Mulch is a broad term, commonly used incorrectly. Mulch refers to any covering spread on the ground that prevents erosion, prevents weeds, and enriches the soil. Our Mulch is actually the insides of the tree ground up to create Mulch. The bark is a type of mulch and often refers to mulch made from the actual tree bark.

Typically a mulch that lasts longer is the better buy, but all of our mulches are high quality. Colored mulches typically last the longest.

None of our mulches are treated with any types of chemicals to prevent insects or pests. But Cedar Mulch is a good natural option.

Mulch is a decomposing material that fungi will grow on as a food source. Fungus in/on mulch is natural and is usually not harmful.

Yes the dye has been tested and found to be environmentally safe. The dye is non-toxic and safe around plants, pets, and children.

Chances are that it rained shortly after installation or your lawn sprinklers washed some dye off. The dye never has a chance to fully dry and lock into the wood. We recommend waiting 24-48 hours after installation for any type of water to come into contact with your colored mulch. You can use a rake to move your mulch around to stir up your mulch to find pieces with color.

Most wood mulches will typically last between 2 and 4 years before fully decomposing.

Natural mulch’s color will last 1 to 3 months and will turn a grayish color. colored mulch’s color will last 1 to 2 years depending on snowfall, heavy rain, or sun exposure.

We offer and sell a variety of wood pellets and firewood as a heating source for our customers. Wood pellets are a great alternative to pricey propane.
